Why was the cutoff for the 2004 AMC 10 A 110? I didn't find anything particularly difficult about the test... I thought 2004 AMC 10 B was more difficult (at least the last five problems).

We've discussed this before - knowing ranges of scores can be useful before taking a test. If I believe that the test is hard, I'll plan accordingly, do only a few questions, leave the rest blank, check a lot. If its easy, I'll be aggressive, do more, spend less time checking.

You might say that its not a big deal, but theres no harm in waiting a bit.

keta, I dont know honestly. It wasnt that hard, but I did think the 10 B was easier. Actually, I took 12A and 10B, but same applies.

does anyone have the solutions for today's test?

vtoodler - solutions will not be released and should not be discussed until Thursday. Not everyone has taken it yet.

Could someone tell me what I would get if I answered 11 questions?

10 right, 1 wrong, 14 omit...I don't think I'm calculating right, is it 95?
:( I was so close, I should have rechecked the problem I was doubting.

can we PM each other about the test?
I answered 11, so I would have to get all of em right to go on.
There were at least 3 I didnt answer that I could and should have. Damn if i dont go on to the next round.

i answered 15...i think i got all of them right, dont have answers. There was one more i could have done if i tried. Did anyone get a booklet with answers? i heard that some people from the A test got them after taking the test

139.5 (22 right, 3 omits)

Daaaamn, nice work Firebird.

fine, I quit. :)

firebird beat me, 20 right 5 blank 132.5

u guys are awesome. as for me, 14 right 11 omit. 111.5

Nothing to be ashamed of at all- congratulations all around.

i am sorry...but on the last four questions, i just glanced at the words and numbers and i gave up. good job anyways!

11 right 1 wrong 13 omit. 98.5. i suck at life.

adidasty - maybe I'm forgetting something, but what's the point of answering 12 questions?

if you miss one, you fail.

if you get all 12 right, it's basically the same outcome as if you only attempted 11 and got those all correct (you get 100+).

so isn't that 12th question an unnecessary risk? what's the benefit of answering 12 questions when you can answer 11 or 13 instead?

i didnt miss the twelfth question i answered. there was a money probability question that i was shaky on but i answered it anyway and felt okay. too bad it was wrong, so im glad i got an extra one i answered correct. so really i was screwed both ways. had i answered 11, i just would have gotten a lower score. had i omitted that money prob. question i would have gone on to AIME.

i did 14 answers... didn't get scores back yet... but my calc broke... that sucked

adidasty i saw that one and tried it out kinda but wasnt sure at all about the answer.

yeah it was a gay problem. one of the gayest. lol i hate it. it ruined my AIME chance.

uh...right...I'm sure #12 had a sexual orientation...and that it was the same as the other 24 questions...
