anyone taking the Amc 12 on tuesday?

what are y'all aiming for?

I'm aiming for 110, pretty decent score, but atleast i'll make it to the aime.

How bout you guys?

i'm taking the amc 12 on tuesday as well, ugh. lol

how do you think you'll do?

not sure, really depends on how i feel that day. i know it's lame to say that, but last time we took it, the school's heating system broke so we were all freezing to death and unable to concentrate. i'm hoping for 100+. math is my best subject, so we'll see.

yeah, can't wait to get killed on the AIME though, hopefully i'll get more than four right, i've been practicing older AIMEs, and practice is really the only way you do well on it

nice, good luck! see, my school is pretty dumb, and people never prepare for the amc or aime (we've only had a couple people in the past 5 years or so who got that far). but oh well, only a few more months in this trash can of a high school lol

i hate how i have to miss the 2nd day of honors english and ap calc for this thing

btw anyone have the link to a few practice questions and answers

go to artofproblemsolving.com and select contests tab above.

thank you (10ers)

good luck, but keep in mind, you need a LOT of practice to make it to the AIME

yes i know, do you know where the answers are located?

click on the numbers themselves...people (such as I) have posted solutions to many of them.

It's not as bad to get 100 as I thought, as you get so many points for omitting answers - I guess they really want to get you for guessing. But yeah if you get 11 right & omit the rest you get a 101.

yes, but you gotta make sure you didn't get a single of those 11 questions wrong by accident. Last year, I got 17, but I only omitted 3!

Hey what happened to the SAT thread?

lol its next tuesday!?

yeah AMC 12...but I suck at math so I won't qual for AIME (and yes, I am going to try my best and not have a bad attitude about it. But judging by my past performances on AMCs...I'm not making plans for AIME.)

Why the heck don't they have stuff like this for the humanities? Is math special?!!?!?

yes, math is special...it's a skill or a game..however, you want to look at it, and it's very concrete, unlike humanities.

AMC 12!! YEAAAA!! MATH IS SA-WEET!!! A nice way to procrastinate on doing homework.... :O

Qualifying for AIME would be nice. I was pretty close last year with a 90something.

Good luck to everyone taking it, :)
