AMC score verification

I HAVE A QUESTION!!! losl does MIT on its application ask for AIm scores..????????????

You can review the current MIT application here.

Are you asking about AMC or AIME? If so, Question 10 on Part 2 reads: "If you have taken the AMC 10, AMC 12, or AIME exams, list dates and scores."

If you're instead asking about the Australian AIM scores (which I found by googling "AIM scores"), the answer is no. But international applicants may want to indicate strong scores in exams that aren't specifically requested. If this is your question, you may want to post a question about it on Matt McGann's admissions blog for a direct response.

lmao i meant AMC lols i was thinking of aol instant messenger thanks.. mootmom

Will MIT let me in if I have a really high AIM score? Time to start chatting....

i forgot the dates i took amc and aime in 2010 but i know my score…

Anyone can get in, that’s why it’s always packed with visitors.
But getting accepted is another thing. :D

I wish MIT could give us statistics for AMC and AIME score vs. acceptance rate. It would be interesting to see how much they weight these exactly.

Anyone know the 2010 aime and amc test dates lol?

Should I even bother putting what I think my score was if I can’t find the actual paper to say for sure? I took the AMC 10 and I remember I was somewhere between 100-109 but I don’t know how much that will be worth.

I know this is an old thread and I’m trying to revive it because…

I got a 145.5 on the AMC 12B this year and a 15/15 on the AIME II.
I want to know if this alone can help me get into MIT

@clutchinthe4th
Are you going to apply next year?

@clutchinthe4th it will certainly help, but nothing guarantees admissions. Your test scores/GPA/extracurriculars/letters of recc should also be outstanding :)

yes i will be applying for Fall of 2014 as I am a junior in high school now

@clutch

Of course it “helps” your application.
But that alone will not get you in.

No different than people who ask about getting a 2400 on the SATs. All of these tests are about your performance during 4 hours of your high school career.

They also want to know what you did for all those other hours.

While it will certainly help your application I suspect unless do well on USAMO the impact will be limited. Although those scores are certainly impressive the USAMO is a much better (although still flawed) test of very high-end mathematical ability.
