AMCAS GPA and research classes

I searched and I couldn't find an answer to this.

I'm taking classes for my research program and I was wondering if these grades are included in the science/BCMP GPA as the medical schools calculate them.

For example, one of the classes is titled "Biomedical Research: Essential Skills and Concepts." What about graded lab research classes, which are basically just to give me academic units/credit for working in a lab?

I'm assuming that they wouldn't be (what I've been hearing is that it's pretty easy to get As as long as effort is put in), but I wanted to make sure.

Actually, research for credit is factored into your BPCM as long as it is science research of course. It's a little bit of a cheap way to raise your science GPA but that's how the game goes.

Obviously this depends on what department they're offered by.
