I have just finished my freshman year, and I am now working in a great lab and taking 2 credits of independent research under our Bio 200 course. My question is, if I did 2-3 credits of independent research (I'd be working in the lab anyway, why not get some credit for it?) every term until I graduate (using some of the same courses over, ie Bio200/Bio200/MCDB300/MCDB300/MCDB300/MCDB400/MCDB400/MCDB400, spring/summer/fall/winter/fall/winter/fall/winter), would med schools frown upon this? Would they take this into account when calculating my bcpm gpa? I do plan on taking my research pretty far and working in the same lab all of my undergraduate career.

Anybody???

i don't see it as a problem at all (it may even help you). But im pretty sure you can't do this every quarter (university restrictions) so ask your councellor. At my school, I can take up to 3 (i think) quarters of the research class.
