I have an audition for AMDA in 10 days and I want to know what to expect. I've been reading a lot about the school, some good stuff, and some bad stuff. I read that they're starting to accept less students, and I want to know is that true. Do they just accept anyone? No SCAMDA stuff please. I'm nervous, someone please help me

I don’t have much to tell you that 1st hand but I can tell you the my dd auditioned for them back in Jan as a ‘practice audition’ (they waved her app fee) and had NO interest in them at all. She felt the audition was as laid back as audition can be and everyone was friendly. One thing she liked is they actually gave you time to work with the accompanist before your audition. There also was no dance element, just monologue and songs. She got an acceptance phone call 2 or 3 weeks later still with NO interest. HOWEVER she is an intern at a major dance studio in NYC and now has spoken to several students of AMDA who take classes at her studio as well as some of the teachers who are telling her not to rule it out and that it is good IF ITS A MATCH for your personality. They emphasized that you get out of it what you put into it but all the teachers provide their emails and phone numbers and most are willing to help if you are struggling in an area (that was one of the concerns my daughter had heard was since many of the teachers were performers themselves they weren’t available outside of class). So now its actually on her maybe list if she doesn’t get into her top choice school, go figure.
They did say the rumor that they accept practically everyone is not true, they have gotten more selective over the years but they are still accepting more then a college program would because its all they do.

oops I should checked the OP date, your audition is already past hope it went well!
