Amendment 2/Prop 8 -- I CANNOT BELIEVE the nerve of this country

Yes. Thank you Zamzam!

dip da dip da dip do wop da doobee doo (aka bump!)

You can't always get what you want.

Homophobia won the day, deal with it and better luck next time, stop using up bandwidth.

[quote]
Truthfully, there is nothing Constitutional that gives homosexuals the same rights as heterosexuals. If it's over their life, liberty and (I really forget what the third quality specified is), there is nothing that says that a man making love to another man is a Constitutionally protected right. If you want a license, unless you can point out a Constitutional violation you gotta dance to the state's tune.

Are you nuts? Ever heard of the 14th amendment?

The "states tune" as you call it, cannot be discriminatory.

Indeed, #103, people must deal with it, and this thing commands so obsessed a fury in the minds of advocates (I can only speak for myself) that it holds to itself that the public must no longer fail to embrace sensibility in terms of sexuality. The agenda must be pushed farther in the coming years - as a holistic removal of the Moblings' need for the grotesque horror of Conformity - and thus shall be the fall of Norm, that violent excuse to discard independent investigation and the labour of thought, but I digress. Those religions must be updated. Mindsets must be updated. In imposing the inefficient scourge of tradition upon the law, humans are firewalled from coming to logical and empirical terms with the fluidity of reality. Homophobia is a part of that firewall of nonsense.
PS: The churches of Conformity will fall with the end of Mirror Neurons and related brain structures, or perhaps an indoctrination against intolerance. However, as long as stupid little schoolchildren or stupid little politicians are even inclined to discriminate against someone because that someone is strange, that firewall stands, so perhaps indoctrination is not enough.

Here I must disagree with you about using up bandwidth. With more bandwidth dedicated to the "the Agenda", there is more visible promotion.

For now, the solution is exactly what you suggest - dealing with it - the protests; the calls to representatives and senators (whose contact data you can find easily; State Legislator members usually have e-mail addresses or phone numbers on a central site per state; Senators have more independent Internet presence, as well as address listings etc on a federal site); and the thoughtful letters and public pleas. Already it is estimated that 8% of the Yes-On-8 people have changed their minds - enough to tilt the balance if there were a re-vote today - so we cannot stop. The fight has to spread to Texas and Kansas or it will remain in doubt (I take it you appreciate how the last US presidential election was won). I eagerly anticipate a conservative commentator suggesting Jesus was homosexual.

I'll bump too.

Nick017,

It won but the war has only just begun.
A gunless, bombless war, declaration and all.
I think I'll name it: Operation American FREEDOM.

is sooooooo agree. the day prop 8 passed, our Gay-straight alliance club walked around the school singing "we will be heard". i admire them and they are so correct b/c this deals w/ basic rights. some of my friends were crying, and it was really depressing. =(

the day prop 8 passed, my friends and i jumped up and down for joy. my friends and i felt pretty bad that obama won but when prop 8 passed, i was happy again. my other friends who are very liberal were depressed and that was bad because that means i couldnt go to their houses to play xbox. straight pride!

bump^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

why would you bump such an old thread?

cuz i got bored haha

let’s allow incest, murder and rape!

EQUAL RIGHTS!

^^ you’re an idiot.

The Bible says that marriage is the eternal union of a man, a woman, and Jesus… ban Jewish marriage and ban divorce.

and so are you.

Tell me why incest is wrong, but homosexuality is right.

hmmm im not sure why u have incest on the brain . . .

i think incest is really gross, but isn’t necessarily bad. incestuous marriages shouldn’t be banned by the state.

btw, you are still an idiot

Well, I think homosexuality is really gross.

btw, you are still an idiot.

w/e.

Liberals can’t accept people who have different opinions any more than conservatives. Filthy hypocrits

Who’s not accepting you? You believe homosexual marriage is gross; I would like to partake in a homosexual marriage at some point. Cool. I’m not advocating that you be forced by the government to get married to a man, but you are advocating that your views be forced on me.

America is about the freedom to live your life without infringing on the rights of others, and without fear of the government infringing on your rights. I’m just being patriotic, call me old-fashioned.

there’s a difference between personally disliking something and enshrining that dislike into law.

an example: although many dislike bigoted viewpoints, they are not banned by law. we still have the republican party . . .
