I was recently nominated by my AP USH teacher for American Legion Keystone Boys State. It is a free week long program about government.
I was also looking at BU's Summer High School Honors program, which is 7 weeks, about $6500, and you earn 8 credits for two classes---which would be biology/chemistry related for me.
I am thinking of going into biology for college, so i figured BU would be good experience, however, it is pretty damn expensive, and if i cannot get any aid then there's no way i am going.
If i do the Boys State program then i will most likely work and see about volunteering at a local hospital for the summer.
I haven't done any volunteer work yet, and i am in 11th grade, and i hear that having just a little hours makes it not really a huge help or anything...?
Do you think having the Boys State along with work and volunteering would be better than BU or would it be the reverse?
Thanks for any advice you guys can give me.
