American SPS, UCLA, UDel, USC...help!!

So I am basically in love with ucla. Everything about it actually lol but sadly, since I am out of state, it's very expensive. That's why im considering other schools too. (im out of state for ucla and udel)

any opinions on these schools? I was admitted for political science. if you dont know sps at american is the school of public affairs.

also, i really like the feel of a big school with a lot going on. i want a balance of a good social and academic atmosphere.

any feedback will be appreciated =]

also, i think I’m leaning towards ucla & udel so comparisons on the 2 would be helpful =]

anyone have an opinon??

I go to USC for public affairs and I love it. You may want to check it out: http://www.usc.edu/schools/sppd/.

It’s also the highest ranked university on your list at #7, according to US NEWS.
[Rankings - Public Affairs - Graduate Schools - Education - US News and World Report](http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-public-affairs-schools/rankings)

American is a great school for political science. USC and UCLA are both extremely selective schools. If I were you, I would pick it based off where you want to live in the future. If you want to do poly sci and be active in DC, then I would go with American.

see what im afraid of with american is that its good for political science but what if i change my mind about what to do? its not very highly ranked…
i love their political science program but not the school itself =/

and is that link for undergrad or grad school?

… ever thought of leaving Delaware and coming to California, and gaining residency? Just a thought…

I know someone who was from Utah, who came to California, enrolled in community college then gained residency – the prior two might have been switched, or concurrent – because comm college might be decently expensive for out-of-staters – then transferred to UCLA to study bioengineering.

Oddly enough, he chose to go back to Utah, I think it was Utah State for medicine because of their med school specializing in prosthetics, or whatever it was.

Just a thought…

If you like the westside of LA – who wouldn’t? – Santa Monica College is a great place from which to xfer to UCLA. I think it’s an outrageous 20% or so who transfer from all colleges or just cc are from that school to the U.

The reason for this is mostly because:

You get these extremely motivated Persian and Jewish kids from the westside who want to go to UCLA, who were maybe close from high school.

You get these equally motivated international students who want a side-door entry into the school.

The same as above for out-of-staters also pointing towards UCLA.

I don’t think the acceptance rate is a lot greater for SMC students making it into UCLA, maybe around 33%, but there are a lot more kids there taht want to attend. It’s (Its) rep for xfers to UCLA has gained significant notice, and that has fed off itself and perpetuated things to the 20% or so of xfers. Some even come from other areas in CA to attend SMC for this purpose.

ever thought of leaving wherever… not Delaware obviously.

im from ny not delaware lol

and i want to go to ucla more than anything im just having trouble convincing my parents
