Almost everyone today in a high-power position would be considered a d-bag by you guys here. Seriously, there isn’t anything wrong with being one.
If given the opportunity, not a single one of you would turn down the opportunity to take their place.

Nice doesn’t get you up the social ladder these days, sad to break the news to you guys.

btw- I get called a d-bag (or similar things) regularly. It’s actually a compliment.

Um, no. Most people move up the social or employment ladder by networking. Work hard, makes friends in a variety of places, and it will work well for you. If you are an *******, no one is going to pick up that phone to let you know about the vacancy that just opened up in their department, and no boss is going to promote you.

That isn’t to say that you can’t be confident and firm. But being an ******* just for the sake of being an ******* will more often than not lead you to nowhere.

@Cuse0507.
OK fine, a CHARISMATIC d-bag. Apparently that’s what I am :)

If i recall correctly, you’re a 6’ tall girl? (from the weight/height thread). interesting. and as the famous saying goes:
“Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely”.

@Schmaltz
you were this l l close to calling me a d-bag weren’t you =P its ok. maybe next time.

Hey, if you can turn off your d-bagness at the right times (job interviews, interactions with your boss, etc) then all the power to you. You would certainly be a rarity among ***bags though. Perhaps a highly evolved ***bag, the worst kind. :)

Wow fa-la-lena. MSU is the one with the inferiority complex. UM students have a right to be arrogant. They’re smarter than MSU students. And better at football.

jrt336: seriously…do we really have to get into this on CC? Well you asked for it.

Smarter is a rather relative term, don’t you think? Better overall stats for incoming freshmen, true. But I certainly don’t have an inferiority complex…in fact, I am pretty sure I have better stats than you on most counts (and 90% of UofM students for that matter). I could list off about a thousand reasons why I think my school is better, but we are definitely not going to agree on any of those are we…

And while UofM is traditionally better at football, we kick everyone’s butt at basketball. And I just want to remind you who won last year’s football game? Oh wait, it was MSU. And this year’s game hasn’t even happened yet…so you really don’t have bragging rights until that game happens.

And arrogance is never a right…only UofM students (and students from other douchy colleges) would say that. Thanks for proving my point!

uhh my car isn’t even on campus right now (it’s 250 miles away sitting in my cozy garage )
and it’s not what you drive that makes you a d-bag. it’s how you act. so just for your own reference, most people don’t even know I have a 335i. People who really have something, dont need to show off.

if you do with your dad’s a6 or whatever, then be my guest.

BMW, you never answered my question. What does my height and gender have to do with anything?

jrt: I have no inferiority complex. I am perfectly well aware that UMich students are typically more studious and get better grades. However, UMich feels the need to shove it in everyone’s face. That is not all right.

whistles innocently to a tune that is definitely NOT The Victors :P

On a separate note, this thread got needlessly mean! The MSU vs Umich rivalry is supposed to be fun. /I/ certainly don’t have anything against MSU and even applied but chose Umich almost exclusively because of location, and the rest of it was probably just that I wanted to try and get my foot in the door at UM law. Does that mean I am not going to relish singing, “if you can’t get into college, go to state!” at the hockey games this year? Honestly, no! But it’s all in good fun and I not only expect but hope to get everything I dish out right back. It’s no fun if it’s one sided.

And to be fair, it’s not as if MSU is totally innocent in this game, either. I don’t think our Defend the Diag parties came from nowhere.
