I got into Cornell. Yourself?

Congratulations. (: I got into Emerson.

gee thanks…

Congrats @Alyssa !!! I’m loving the positive energy surrounding us. I am just hoping that it may continue

@worried you just don’t seem like you can be tamed, no offense. As Mind blowing as this whole experience is, you need to be somewhat positive. When you put positive energy in the universe, usually, positive things happen :). Be thankful that you have somewhere to for in Fall 2012… Some people don’t :).

Hey guys, I’m also a transfer applicant. I just wanted to say good luck to everyone.
@worried I tend to cope with an opposing visualization. I picture not getting in, so that I’ve already gone through the worst case scenario; if I get in then it only makes it an even more exciting moment as opposed to just some release of anxiety. The application is already sent… What will be will be. =)

Look at it this way, a month from now we’ll all be pretty much over this and moving on.

Thanks @thelxinoe. I’ve been lurking around the UT threads happy to go there if all else fails.

If you don’t mind, may I ask what your admissions status on ACdata?

Was there ever a consensus regarding the application status message being indicative of anything?

I still say acceptance. Am I still the only one without it?

@WorriedAlways - Nope, I don’t have that message. Going off statistics, chances are that none of us will make it, so lets not jump to conclusions.

I just called to ask about when the notifications are coming out to see if I needed to get an extension from Columbia. The admissions official requested that I call back on the 7th if I have still not received word.

It appears that a date for the decision notifications has not been determined as of yet.

Really? Yeah I don’t know. Are you worried that yours doesn’t say that? I just wonder why theirs say that. When did you send in all your materials/apply?

I cannot say that I am worried about the application status message.
It just seems too unlikely that any of us, let alone a plurality, will be admitted.

Haha ouch?! Why do you think there’s say that o.o

Someone (may have been you) previously stated that the message displayed was intended for the freshman admissions, indicating to me that it is merely a holdover in the AC Data system.

Ooo yeah that was jameson I think? Sigh. It’s almost time you guys!

@worriedalways I have the “The designated date to view your letter has not yet arrived. We expect your letter to be ready on March 30 2012. Please check back at that time.” message…But I really doubt it actually means anything.

@dcsmiss To say that it is improbable that any of us will be accepted assumes that we are a representative sample of the entire pool of transfer applicants. It’s POSSIBLE that the determination shown by finding and regularly posting in a forum regarding admission to the school is indicative of more work being put into the applications. (Also, you might give worriedalways a heart attack. lol)

Haha I like how I’m the spaz of the thread!

Grr I think it means something though.

And who knows…maybe of the some 22 students admitted, the ones here of the few

I really hope at least 5 of us here get through. Look how enthusiastic we are. I just watched the admissions recording thing, again, and there is no telling what these people are looking for.

I would be really happy if someone I’ve spoken to from here gets through. Then I could live vicariously through them :).

Just trying to be realistic, and hopefully mentally prepare whoever is reading for the probable. I do not want people to feel their lives are over because of this decision.
And if they get in, it’s a pleasant surprise :)

I think it’s best to expect the worst but hope for the best, but both in balance. Don’t expect the worst to the extent that you’re extremely depressed but don’t hope for the best by being extremely excited about it. That’s what I’m trying to do, at least.

Also, what are you all planning on studying at Amherst/wherever you go (if not Amherst)? I’m curious.
