Double major
- Economics and Political Science - regardless of where I end up attending

Double majors appear practically impossible at Columbia though, good thing they have Joint degrees.

If I get into Amherst it would be Mathematics and Economics.

Cornell = Biological Science.

How about you Alyssa?

I will major in neuroscience if accepted at any of the schools I applied to, except one (Evergreen State College) which has an incredibly unique curriculum that isn’t like a traditional major.

@thelxinoe Where are you applying from? CC as well?

English/Creative Writing. And Photography, if I end up at a school that has a great Photography program. I’m also extremely passionate about Gender Studies so maybe that as a minor. But the English/CW is set in stone.

I love how we are all applying for different things. I think the odds would be in your favor Alyssa. More males apply than females :).

It makes me happy that we’re all applying for different things. It shows how diverse we are yet how well we get along/how well we relate because of this one situation we’re all in.

And I suppose that’s true. I haven’t been taking gender into account. In fact, I haven’t imagined anyone in here as a gendered person except for Worried because I know her name. But honestly I wasn’t even thinking of gender.

Maybe you’re one of the males that will get in, though!

Philosophy and mathematics for me.

Haha! Nice one Alyssa. You just announced Worried’s name! HAHA! Excuse the drama, but if I were accepted to Amherst it would probably be the biggest accomplishment of my life.

@jyoungs , you have my respect. I took T.O.K in I.B and it was hardcore rape. All the best with that one!

Spanish and political science with a French minor.

Let’s just all make a pact to go even if we don’t get accepted…

Oh yay Alyssa!! Haha I’m noticed. Eh i did IB too! I lived TOK. Did y’all get y’all’s IB diploma? Mine is shiny.

Well, I already went… I was there on thursday :).

No I meant forcefully enroll in Amherst…too far?

@ronlo91 I am from a CC, and I’m female, but I’m a non-traditional student…I’m 26 and trying to obtain my first undergrad degree. I’m really not sure if that helps or hurts me in any way. Schools seem to like diversity, but I’m not sure if they consider throwing old people in the mix as diversity. Also, I don’t really have the same credentials as the competition. I took the SATs (when it was still /1600) and graduated high school 9 years ago. I, at the very least, have an interesting life story.

That’s awesome. I wish you the best of luck and I hope to actually have the opportunity to meet you !

Roughly a week before we know!

Did any of you apply to Amherst during your first time applying to schools? I did, I got rejected.

No. This is my first time applying. Don’t the schools like when you apply again? It might work to your benefit :).

Yeah, that’s why I asked. I’m glad I chose to apply again because of this. I was just wondering if any of you guys were in the same boat. Although, you’re all a bit more qualified than I am numerically (gpa, sat, etc), so I’m now equal to you with this. xD

Haha! I didn’t send my SAT scores lol. We were equal from the get go :).

Excitement!

I never took the SATs in high school, because you had to pay for them.
Another factor was that I was scared of the writing section, as they had just added in my junior year. So I took them in January this year, and sent the scores in.
