Amherst College 2012 Fall Transfer

Don’t say that! We want to keep our hopes up, for all of us. Let’s hope that we’re happy by this time next week. (:

Bring on the ice cream

Mine will be green tea ice cream :)

You just became my best friend.

Are most people here non traditional by the way?

I believe just 3 of us, if I’m not mistaken.

YES GREEN TEA ICE CREAM. Good life choices.

And I’m traditional.

What is a non traditional? I took about 2 years off (after graduation) to work to help support my family in Jamaica. I explained that in a separate letter. l guess that makes me non-traditional?

Yeab I’m traditional too.

I guess you’re non traditional ronlo…ah.

Hahahahah good life choices??

No, we’ll be jumping around and dancing the can-can in happiness and meeting in the fall and laughing about this agonizing wait.

But Earl grey ice cream is so much superior!

I’m pretty sure I count as non-traditional? I actually left high school after 9th grade to go to my current college, so I don’t have a diploma, but not entirely sure if that makes me technically non-traditional…

I don’t know who that A person is, but he/she just earned like 20 cool points.

How old are you Jameson?

I love how much of a little family we are :)… Even though we are competing with each other game face .

I…I forgot we were each other’s competition

Well, competing for multiple spots.

Hey WorriedAlways. I’ve just been reading the posts here and feeling better because I’m not the only one suffering over this  Misery likes company, or so they say…

Haha I’ve been wondering why this thread has like over 4,000 views but like 7 or so people commenting. So what’s you story if you don’t mind sharing?

Also, does you admissions status say the March 30th thingy like the others?

My story… International student, currently going to a 4-year tiny private school in AZ where no one cares about school and classes are mediocre at best. Amherst is my first choice, followed by Reed. I haven’t heard back from any school, which could be a good thing, since I’ve heard from a couple people who have already received rejection letters for transfer. And yes, my status says March 30th too, but I don’t think it means anything. I guess we’ll know this week. I’m luckily in finals and auditing 2 classes so all my waking time is spent working, so I have less time to think about other stuff… What other schools are you considering?

From where have people received rejection letters?

I applied to UT and NYU :/

Gar I still think it does!

This is definitely the most active board for the schools I applied to, which makes it my favorite. I applied to Lehigh University, University of Rochester, Brown University’s RUE program and Evergreen State College. I think Lehigh is posting tomorrow and U of R’s site said there’s a decision but the letter hasn’t made it yet. The RUE program doesn’t send out letters till early-mid May, and I have a feeling it will be more like mid-May.

NYU totally has like over 40 pages, and of course UT’s thread is huge, so this is my smallest one o.O
