I got accepted for Biological Science. That’s funny, I feel the exact opposite. Amherst is a bit higher than Cornell for me though. The small school, environment and class sizes are what REALLY got me. I hope they accept more boys this year. I looked at the common data sheets for the last 5+ years… 1 out of every 10 community college kid gets accepted. I have been praying since January that I am in that ONE. I hope they accept more than 22 Community college kids this year!!!

well good luck to you, and remember that you have to be the first person to believe in yourself for these things to happen. YOU worked your butt off, and wherever you end up you are there for a reason. I just spent 2 years embarrassed to tell my dentist “no, im not still in high school … no, im not home from college… I go to community college down the street” I have learned so much over the past two years and it wasn’t until I started believing in myself that I started accomplishing bigger and better things!

haven’t checked last years thread yet… i get addicted to these things. haha well I hope that I get in so I have some options. I really don’t want to go to UCONN if money doesn’t work out for Cornell

Shoes…someone on Tumblr I’m talking to also has her status changed I’m the only one.

I ALMOST applied to CAS for Biological Sciences but I saw my major at the last minute and knew it was for me. I just wish it was a smaller school. haha I am too used to calling my professors by name and walking into their offices. I don’t know what I will choose if I get into both though!

maybe that means that we are the unfortunate ones. is she from CC?

Mika!!! I thought I was the only one who felt that way! Your story is the same here! I have learned so much over these last 2 years! I’m so proud of us! I want to have options as well… I hope the money is good for Cornell. I’m still waiting for the package to get here. If I got into Amherst, regardless of the funds, I’m accepting A.S.A.P!!!

@WorriedAlways, how you feel is normal. Just relax, man. Que sera, sera. I know it’s easier said than done, but just have faith and know you did your best at the end of the day :).

ME TOO @ mika. I always call out to my professors and I talk to my professors on a regular. I love that I’m known by my name and not by some random number in the class, you know?

I can’t wait to see if all of us get in. I’d love to actually meet you all!

Sigh no. I’m in Texas and have work/school. Yeah I didn’t visit any schools even out of high school.

Did you go to CC for 2 years Ronlo? and Mika?

yeah, same here! funny how much we all have in common. i just private messaged you. you can add me on fb if you want. idk if youve joined the cornell group, but its getting pretty big so I would have no idea who you are! haha of course, if you would like to remain anonymous that is fine too :)

Que sera will not sera!!

@worriedalways The end of may will mark my 2nd year :).

@mika I added you! There is a group!? Send me the link! I’m excited!

AHH!! What a thrilling and daunting experience this whole thing is… dies

well, long story short I was in a private hs for 2 years and hated it. Decided to go to community college at 16 instead of going to the local hs in my town. The following year I went to Spain on a Rotary youth exchange scholarship. I came back in July and this past year has been my second year at CC. graduating in may

that awkward moment accepted people start making connections.

A few posts in the freshman admit thread about the status change; not enough information to make any sort of prediction, though.

Inside look at an Amherst admissions committee meeting.

oh.my.gawsh.

–“About a dozen committee members”.
–“2 initial readers” that present the application to the rest of the committee.
–Looking for that “je ne sais quoi”.

Wishes I had that before.

They weed out the really good ones and summarize them on a page. Then set maybe’s aside. Then possibly retract some of the yes’s. Sigh.
