<p>from the info session, ED is mostly destined for legacy kids and athletic kids… regular good students will not increase their chances by applying ED.</p>

<p>I’m going to apply to Amherst, but I don’t know whether ED or RD. I’m only a junior in high school this year, but I pretty much know what colleges I want to go to and such. I’d be the class of 2015. I’m visiting Amherst, Williams, Bowdoin, and Conn College this fall. Whichever college I like most I’ll apply ED to. Amherst seems really great - some of the profs are fabulous.</p>

<p>You can get out of the ED contract if you can prove their financial offer isn’t enough.</p>

<p>i’m still thinkin about my common app essay. My GC says he needs the packet soon. I’m concentrating on that for the time being</p>
<p>You have to give all your Common App materials to your GC? Ours just wants the counselor’s recommendation. She basically said at the meeting that she doesn’t know anything about the process and will only be filling out that one form.</p>
<p>QP: I’m thinking about the first two supp topics, though I haven’t completely ruled out the others yet. How about you?</p>
<p>ohh…my mistake. yeah the GC looks after a lot. But i just found out that my essay is not due until the college deadline. That’s a huge relief.</p>
<p>I’ve been planning on applying ED to Amherst for a few months now, but my parents decided I needed to compare financial aid packages. They think I have a huge chance at Harvard (which is bull, but I can’t seem to convince them of that) and, if I get into Harvard, it’ll be less expensive because of our income level. I’m going to apply RD to both and just hope for an acceptance to Amherst. Good luck to everyone!</p>
