"an admission decision has been made and will be sent in the mail" ...

It has been a while since my daughter first saw that Hofstra had made an admission decision on her student portal, but she still hasn’t gotten notification. She even had a voicemail where the person calling said that an admission decision had been made and would be arriving in a few weeks by mail and that it could not be given over the phone.

When do they let you know? She got her application in and complete by October 5th.

Do you get scholarship information in the initial notification or does that come later?

Hi there! Thank you for your question. Notification for our Early Action I students begins on December 15. If admitted and offered scholarship, it will be in the second paragraph of the letter of acceptance. I hope this was helpful. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. And you can always feel free to contact Undergraduate Admissions at (516) 463-6700. -CW

How about for “preferred candidates”? Still December?

Yes, Select Candidate applicants will also hear back starting December 15. -CW
