An AP students daily routine

Im curious to see how other succeed in school. Having many AP classes, what do you do, study X amount of hours, use websites, private tutors, tutorials, etc. Thanks

I take 3 APs right now: Physics, Lang, and Micro/Macro (4 if you count those as seperate classes). I have a study hall every other day, which is a huge gift of 1 hour and 40 minutes of quiet and pure productivity. I typically do Lang or non-AP class work during this time. If I have a test the next day in Physics or Econ, I will review for a 2-3 hours with videos on YouTube/Khan Academy or practice problems in the Barron’s/5 Steps to a 5 book. I don’t study for Lang tests/essays at all. I’ve considered getting a Econ tutor, but decided that I could get more done quicker by myself. I find my course load very manageable.

Gotta specify how many. 1 AP vs 3 APs can make a big difference in a daily routine

Wow I feel bad for all you guys.
6 APs.
I don’t study. Srsly.
All time spent on school is on busywork.
Sometimes I’ll buy a review book early in the year and skim the relevant chapter before the test but it’s usually unnecessary.
To compensate for the pretentiousness above, my school is pretty easy so it’s not too bad.

@DigitalKing‌ if you don’t mind me asking what school do you go to

if you don’t want to say dw about it

@dasani12345 4 APs now, which is still tough considering extracurriculars (especially when it’s volleyball season). For math and science, I do practice problems. For others, I usually just look over whatever notes I took.

For me personally, I have 3 AP’s this semester (ap euro/ap chem/ap calc bc).

For AP Euro I

  1. Review the notes before the test
  2. Browse over the barron’s book multiple choice questions and information
  3. Look at online flash card sets sometimes before test as they summarize the chapter which we cover. We are told to read the chapter but I usually just read the summary at the back and look at the definitions of the key words

For AP Chem

  1. I spend the most time on this as it is the hardest class/most time required at my school to you know get an A
  2. I sometimes look at Khan academy videos, google the homework questions and read explanations on yahoo answers and like from college worksheets keys sometimes
  3. Read through the notes and do practice ap multiple choice he gives in class
  4. I also have a review book so i skim that the day before the test on that specific unit

For AP Calc BC

  1. I do some homework problems
  2. I sometimes look at Khan academy
  3. I look over the notes from class and just make sure I can do all the types of problems.

other than that I keep it chill. I don’t necessarily spend too much time studying as i just look at the info and let my brain kind of just be able to take it in so on the test i can reason like for ap euro i can reason why the answer is the answer. for math its just knowing how to do it like that specific problem

:open_mouth:

AP Calc & psychology
-Do hw during passing period/while they’re going over it
AP LANG
-Do essays and read through the college board samples
APUSH
-Do notes and skim book at school
AP physics
-Say my prayers

I’m taking AP lit, physics c, chem, and calc bc. It’s basically impassible to actually get all of my hw and studying done. I never do my lit readings, and just try to do as much of my chem/physics problem sets as possible. I do my calc homework whenever I have time and just get Bs in the class

I’m only in one AP class since I’m a freshman, but I’m also in 5 honors classes. The AP is Human Geography. Basically, my routine is:

6:15 Wake Up
7:40-2:40: School
2:40-4:00: Band/Other Extracurriculars/Volunteering
4:00-5:00: Relax (finally lol)
5:00-9:00: Homework/Study/Online Class (Chemistry). This could take anywhere from only 30 minutes (rarely) to 6 hours (when I have tests or projects). I’d say the average time that I do homework and study per day is 2 1/2 hours.

My schedule was a lot more busy during marching band season though. Now I have this amazing things called FREE TIME! (All of CC collectively gasps.)

Inspirational. Thank you
