Ranking: Top 10% of my grade (with my school being in the top 10 in the state - extremely competitive!)
Subjects: Very challenging courseload - first in economics, mathematics, extension history, and second in several others.
Grades: In the Australian system, my final exams should place me in the top 1.5% of the state (i.e. the top 900 students out of 60,000 exam-sitters)</p>
<p>ACT: Sitting this Saturday (eek!) - practice tests thus far suggest between 33-35</p>
<p>SATs: Not planning on sitting; may sit subject tests after October, but only if I end up deciding to apply to Harvard/Georgetown</p>
<p>ECs (# years is how many I will have spent in each by the time I apply)
- Model UN (2009 State Champion; 2008 State Finalist; competed in nationals last year)
- (Non-school) - comissioned by EMI Records to produce a music video for a professionally-signed band (I have a letter from the director of A&R; also produced a video for an unsigned band)
- 1 week of work experience at a record label in 2008
- Deputy Head Prefect of school (i.e. "second in command" :P)
- Various school prizes (including Outstanding Contribution to School Life, Outstanding Contribution to Music, and academic prizes)
- Senior concert band, senior jazz band, brass ensemble, guitar ensemble
- Mock trial
- 6 years of guitar lessons, 8 years of trumpet lessons
- Varsity and Community soccer, varisty indoor soccer, as well as school touch football, field hockey, and athletics
- Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinboroughs Award
- First Aid qualification</p>
<p>Community Service:
- Surf Life Saver (volunteer) over the summer months - generally 30-40 hours p/summer for 3 summers
- 15 Hours at a local community centre

<p>Essays:
I'll probably write my main one about the lessons learned from dealing with 'rockstar attitudes' during my time working professionally as a producer for EMI in a humourous tone, with the lessons it taught me about management etc. (reflecting a passion for business) --> I'm a pretty good essay writer so should be good.
The smaller essay will most likely be about my involvement in Model United Nations </p>
