You have a small shot at all the UCs..your scores will hurt you a lot. get your gpa into the 3.5s and your SAT in the 1200s, and you will have a much better shot.

You have a good shot at all the Cal States

This is what I would say my chances are at these schools... Just say if u agree or not...

REACHES

UC - Irvine
UC - Davis

MATCHES

UC - Santa Cruz
UC - Riverside
UC - Merced
Cal State - San Diego (SDSU)

SAFTIES
Cal State - San Marcos
Cal State - Chico
Cal State - Long Beach
Cal State - Fullerton
Cal State - Northridge

i dont think any of the UCs are matches, but low reaches for riverside and merced. a higher reach for santa cruz

i agree w/ the rest

I'm not sure about Chico and Long Beach as safeties. Both have become much more popular schools as admissions to the UC's tightens up. I'd say you should consider them matches, not safeties.

Stealthvs:

UCI: Slight Reach
UCD: Slight Reach
UCSC: Match
UCR: Match
UCM: Safe Match

SDSU: Match
CSU San Marcos: Safe Match
CSU Chico: Safe Match
CSU Long Beach: Safe Match
CSU Fullerton: Safe Match
CSU Northridge: Safe Match

thanks... anymore comments?

UCs require 3 years of foreign language, methought, and you only have.. 1? They can disqualify you for that. Can you clear this up?

hello tlaktan and others,

sorry for the confusion... if u look at my High School Gpa section, you will see that I took French 1/2 freshman year and French 3/4 sophomore year..and I thought that 2 years was required and 3 years is recommended. I understand that this will weight me down but certainly not disqualify right?

What do u guys think about my chances at the all the CSU schools... I'm more concerned about those than the UC system. I would very much appreciate it if you guys form make a REACH/MATCH/SAFETY list for me.. Thank you!

bump... hmm... this new forum doesn't let u just say bump so I have to type all this to qualify as a post... and if u r reading this. Please answer to my questions :D

Just to let you know, last year, SDSU's averages were 3.69 gpa and 24 ACT or 1129 SAT I (admitted students). They say it gets more competitive every year.

It may be a little late, but I would recommend you consider taking the ACT, based on your high school history, I think the added areas of testing (science and what not) would help in your overall scoring, pushing you towards an equivalent SAT score of 1200.

Your shots at the CSU's are very good. And I think you should have no problem with SDSU. Although I'd rather see you goto a UC.

Work hard on your essays, do not rush your applications, and try to look into the ACTs.

Good Luck
