<p>So essentially this is a ranking based on the following:</p>
<p>50% Student/Faculty Ratio (shown as the Faculty Rank)</p>
<p>50% % of Students who were in the Top 10% in their high school (shown as the Student Rank)</p>
<p>Pretty weak ranking system.....Simple, but weak</p>
<p>If you really want to use a sports analogy, try thinking of a ranking system that incorporates what a school does on the national sports scene in combination with the academic quality that they offer.</p>
<p>hawkette, thanks for the reply. Yes I think it's meant to be simple. It's uncanny though how it parallels many of the better known and more complicated ranking systems. I looked up your post on how to create a better ranking system and it's very impressive. Would you mind if I asked you what line of work you're in?</p>
