<p>I am at a loss for words about how incredibly stupid this is!</p>

<p>I wonder how many of these parents are sending their kids to private schools when they live in districts with great to excellent public schools? I understand in some areas, upper-middle-class parents may feel like they “have” to send their kids to private schools because the caliber of the public schools is so low, but I wonder about parents who can’t afford it but live in affluent areas that are likely to have good public schools.</p>

That’s the case for Dunham who says he and his wife haven’t saved for college for their two children. Instead, he says, they’re trying to give them the best education now in the hopes that it’ll open doors to better colleges. “We’ll figure out how to pay for it then, or with any luck they’ll get schoalrships,” he says. “Right or wrong, we’re hoping our experiment works.”
