Greetings College Confidential members and JHU Regular Decision applicants. As you all probably know this afternoon we mailed all of our RD notifications and starting at 7:00 p.m. EDT we will begin releasing our e-mail notifications. I see there has been a ton of traffic the last few days here, and a lot of questions about how decisions are released at Hopkins. I do not have the time to answer each question individually, especially since so many of the questions have already been answered here:
Hopkins Insider Breaking News: RD Notification Release Explained

I also recommend that you read through the live-blogging I have been doing all day to get a sense of how the day has progressed:
Hopkins Insider Live Blogging on RD Notification Day (2010)

**Now a piece of advice ... **I wish you all the best as you receive your e-mail decisions later tonight. My *strong suggestion *is that after you read your decision, log-off of your computer and go spend some time with your family. No matter what the decision is!!!

This is a major moment in your young life, and family is who you should share your initial thoughts and emotions with. Your family has been there since the first moment of your life, and they will be there FOREVER. Your family is not some online community. Afterwards you can log-on and share with others.

Let the news sink in first. React in the real world before entering the cyber world. Just my two cents but I do hope you all heed it.

And finally, just so you know I will be taking a break from College Confidential for the next week or so. Why? I actually purposefully take a hiatus from CC every year. In my many years in this field, and specifically during my time interacting with online admissions communities, I make it a point to remove myself after the release of admissions decisions. This does not mean I am not reachable, in fact I will spend the next week answering tons of questions. If you want answers, then use the systems that we have created for you to get answers:

I am available, I am just focusing my time on the forms of communication linked directly to Hopkins.

Best wishes.
