an urban university or the college experience?

For those who are dealing with the decision of deciding between colleges like NYU, Fordham, BU (urban) and UVA, Syracuse, Penn State (typical college experience), I've decided to start a thread listing the pros and cons of both experiences. I'll start

PRO
Urban schools have connections with whatever city it is in, which = internship opportunities

Feel free to use any school as an example

I don’t understand the distinction. I get that NYU is different, but I don’t know Fordham or BU. But why do you think you can’t have a “typical college experience” in an urban area? I work at Rhodes College which is a great little LAC in the heart of Memphis, I’m sure there are other places (though admittedly not many LACs) in urban environments where you can get a “typical college experience”.
