What up guys! Well I've been a member for my LAX team for 2 years, and we always seem to run these tough "suicides" where you sprint from midline and back, and then endline and back, and we do lotsa these, and they are tiring and always seem to hurt

Don't get me wrong, i'm usually one of the best people at doing this, but it hurts so dang much!
I know that being able to sprint relies mostly on "Anaerobic Endurance" where you don't get breath in enough air and you rely on ur bodies' internal storehouse of energy

For any people really good at sprinting (or running sufficiently fast for long periods of time) could you give me some tips or hints on how to increase my overall stamina, especially when it comes to running fast for a long time?

Thanks

i dont know much about...sprinting...stopped that in 8th grade track...but anaerobic endurance doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me without pain, when you create energy anaerobically, you create acid, that's why you get cramps--the internal storehouse of energy comes with a price as far as what i learned in bio is concerned...

i agree with tagran86 with anaerobic it creates a form of acid in you muscles

You have to increase your anaerobic threshhold. Do some slower, longer running with gradual 1 minute increases in speed.

^and how long would u do that for? 10? 15 20 mintues?

Start with 15 minute slow runs with 30 second to 1 minute pick-ups. At first the pick-ups should be moderately challenging, but not so you can't immediately return to the slower running. Build up to 30 minutes. Even 20 second pick-ups are helpful. If you get serious about this, heart rate monitor training works well for increasing anaerobic threshhold. Check out Runnersworld.com or runningtimes.com for coaching tips etc.

K, thanks! O just one more thing, what's ur alls opinion about ankle weights

I have a pair that equals to about 5 pounds in all and u just strap them on ur ankle and run with them on, is this a good idea to make it easier to run without them?

No ankle weights- can cause injuries.
