Analyze My Results

I am a white male from Pennsylvania, and I would appreciate it if anyone could analyze my chances for any of the following schools:

University of Maryland
University of Pittsburgh
Penn State
Rutgers
Virginia Tech

My prospective major and minor: Major in Computer Science; Minor in Japanese Language and Culture

Extra-Curricular: Varsity Baseball, Academic Team, Robotics Club, Model United Nations (do I need to expand here?)

9th Grade Results:

Afro-Asian Cultures: 91%
Geometry Honors: 64% (Considered a FAILING grade, I am currently retaking.)
Spanish II: 85%
English 9 Honors: 84%
Health Fitness: 89%
Programming in C/C++: 97%
Biology I Honors: 81%

After a dissapointing freshman year, my unweighted GPA is around 2.85 .

I would also appreciate it if someone could recommend other schools on where I could apply to.

Thanks again for your help.

You have just finished your freshman year. It's really too early to tell. Pull up your average and stick with your ECs. Don't worry about college just yet.

Thank you for the reply. How far will I have to pull up my grades to be able to have a matching chance at the schools I listed above?

Thanks again.

i can tell you the WGPA average of UMD was a 3.96 this year.

GPA averages are worthless, i dont know why people look at them. Would you rather someome with a 3.0 GPA from Gilman, Gtown Prep, or any school like that or someone with a 4.0 from one of marylands many bad public schools?
