I'm very interested in Roman History, and would like to learn about it in a college setting. My question is, is there such thing as a major in Ancient History?
And if so, what are some of the best schools for such a major?

You should look for a school with a Classics Department. Best schools - the usual suspects, i.e. the Ivy League.

Classical studies or history with a concentration in the ancient world would fit the bill. If you’re a bit more ambitious, I’d suggest taking a full Classics major - Ancient history, philosophy, and culture through the ancient languages themselves!

Outside of the ivies, you should check state flagships, as they usually manage to have good programs. Then you have your liberal arts colleges, places like Amherst College etc, all are great. Boston University has a particularly strong program, as does UT Austin. It really depends on where you are and how far you are willing to go.

Feel free to send me a pm if you want more info on Classics or Classical studies!
