Giving credit where credit is due…I noticed that I can now flag, and like posts from my IPhone…finally.
Sorry no one acknowledged this before. Thanks for pointing these out! Are they still working as expected?
@lenitus No. I tried to edit a post from my phone. The function is listed, but when I hit the little wheel, and typed my edit, it would not save. I tried to report a post…I have no idea if that went through…or not…because, unlike the site, I got nothing saying my complaint was sent.
I think those new things…flag, like and edit…are ornamental.
Sorry I asked
Do you remember the date of the thread you tried to report?
Hmmm…I report threads all the time. So if I gave you a day, I would also need to give you the exact post I reported!
Yes, and we’re very appreciative of your work Perhaps you can try another report from the phone and note the thread here.
@thumper1, thanks for reporting. Let me deep dive a bit into this and see what’s with these functionalities. I’ll get back as soon as I have news.
@thumper1, just to confirm, you were performing these actions on the mobile app, right?
What mobile app? I tried doing this from my iPhone going through Safari to access CC. Is that considered a mobile application? It does look different than what I see on my iPad, for example.
@thumper1, thanks for confirming! As you referred to the iPhone, I wanted to confirm you did not mean the mobile app.
I actually tested it right now and I was able to like, flag, edit, and delete comments on my iPhone while accessing CC on Safari. Is anyone else experiencing an issue with this?
@Lenitus, @CC_adminSorin, I have the mobile app on my iPhone and have been able to post, edit, “flag”, and “like” posts for quite a while with no problem. I haven’t tried going through Safari, but I’ll test it out to see if it’s different.
I have seen blank pages and/or pages of links and texts when I page forward/backward in the last week or so, but I think others not using the mobile app experienced that too.
Edited on my iPhone app.
CC Admin post marked “helpful” on iPhone app.
Edited again logging in through Safari.
Lenitus post “Liked” while logged in on Safari.
@Thumper1, If you search for College Confidential on the iPhone App Store, you can download it (for free) to your iPhone. Then all you have to do to access it is click on the icon on your home screen. I tried using Safari but kept clearing out all my screens and got tired of searching every time I wanted it.
Please clarify about that iPhone application. I previously (before the update…and when the app,was first introduced) had that application. When the site was updated, the iPhone application ceased working…well…it ceased working well.
I was told, that this IPhone application was a priority update, and would be fixed. So far as I know, that has not yet happened. Has it happened?
I would think that IF CC got a well working IPhone/IPad application on the ITunes Store…this would be shouted from the rooftops.
@austinmshauri did you get this application recently?? Or do you have the old one.
@Thumper1, I’ve had the app for awhile. I tend not to update very often because I only have an iPhone 3. When I get something that works I tend to leave it alone until it doesn’t.
I had the app on my iPad. I did the update and it totally screwed it up. In addition, I was then told that CC did not have a current iTunes application.
I do wish they would get a decent mobile application again. I liked the one that got screwed up in the upgrade.
