D rejected (most likely; no huge envelope – no little rejection envelope either; live in SD). For housing application, CANNOT simply LOG IN. Hope this helps. Congrats to all who were accepted!

Why do you assume your D’s rejected if you didn’t get any mail? And know that you must first create a housing account BEFORE you log in. Often at first, this doesn’t work. I remember it took a few reloads before my son could do it (last year) and whenever traffic is busy (as in sophomore housing lottery), the same thing happens.

I’m sorry but I just don’t think this housing site thing is any indication of anything.

Can you complete registration? If everyone can do it, you should be able to proceed until you are about to pay the $45 housing fee. If you cannot proceed this far, then housing is an indicator of admission (which i personally doubt…)

SanD: but can you register? You don’t actually log in – there is another button to register.

guys, the odds alone say this is meaningless. Only 2 or 3 people have had trouble (and may be doing something wrong, or perhaps tried when the system was down earlier)… Given USC’s roughly 20% acceptance rate, about 4 out of 5 USC applicants will be denied admittance. Think about it.

Hopefully, this theory will quickly go up in smoke when several people who’ve registered for housing get their rejections letters. Not to sound negative, but you get the picture.

I was able to register but did not proceed to actually apply yet.

copterguy–that’s the admissions package. Rejections come in small envelopes.

SDMom2011–maybe your mailman just didn’t have the energy to drag that large envelope up to your house today. Until you get official word, keep the faith.

I apologize for reeking any havoc on this housing deal. We did get the mail; no large envelope, assuming rejected; live in San Diego. I only meant I could not log into “account log in.” I can click the “register” button and it looks like I can register if I want to. Again, my apologies. I guess I’m just trying to help as I know how all of you are feeling right now. Best of luck to all.

Oh–just a bit of a warning. For those trying to register for on the Housing site. The name you choose for your screen name may never be changed. It stays with you. And others will see it when you are looking for roommates. I just mention this if you don’t want to give away super personal info or put a silly/embarrassing name.

Thanks madbean. You’re very sweet.

Oh dear. So sorry, SDMom2011. Hope your S gets many wonderful offers to come.

I never got the dhl and I’m international living in la

does DHL “1lbs” really indicate an acceptance? I’m being tooo skeptical… What was the weight of your acceptance package?

@Moorparkman

I’m from Moorpark too. Chances are you probably know me based off my username!

No package today… very disappointed seeing as though we’re 45 miles away from USC, but people in San Diego are getting them today…

Well, this sucks. I guess if it’s not here tomorrow, it’s a definite no.

BTW - I was able to register and log on to the housing application, if that helps anyone.

The mail arrived and no letter today. I live in the San Fernando Valley, so I’m assuming it’s a rejection. I was able to create a housing account though…

I’m still incredibly confused, SanDmom, about why you think no USC mail today means rejection? Another thought that I would not want to put in to the heads of the many students who also did not receive any USC mail today.

Like anyone else, even in SoCal, tomorrow’s mail may have your answer. And it could be either positive or negative.

no package today, we live in WA

can’t guess when my letter will arrive… to my country.

I just wanted to know - has ANYONE received an acceptance packet (or any letter, actually) in the Bay Area? I’m in San Jose, and I haven’t come home from school yet so I don’t know anything about the mail yet.

Jazz: Pretty positive USC is a no-go. My D is just now reading to me all of the names of her friends who did get in and they live in the same neighborhood. So, yes, no USC mail for US means rejection, but not to everyone in So Cal, I’m sure. Good luck to all, and go Trojans!
