Andover Admission statistics

Middle school education? You are giving them way too much credit. I remember laughing at this bull crap in second grade.

Good point.

Wow. Back less than 500 years, we would have been burnt at the stake for this. BLASPHEMY, I TELL THEE!

yeah. personally, I’m not sure though. it does go both ways. Creation is a load of crap, but I tend to not rule out the possibility og god.

on an unrelated note, I had Puritan ancestors that were tried for witchcraft in the Salem witch trials! not executed, though.

infortunately, I have some very onstinate creationist relatives.

I wish I did. I would argue their sad little butt off!

What the crap are you guys talking about?

Well we were talking about the idiocy of the concept of creation but now we’re talking about arguing about witch trials =)

See, this is clearly the course of conversation when we no longer have any major prep school-related concerns.

hee. can’t wait until all those planning lists and stuff come out!

I am almost positive that I will have a single next year at Andover.

Do you want a single, benev? Dont you want to have a roommate?

My sis who is at BS says that a double adds to the experience, but I would rather have a room to myself. You’re living a wall away from other people. It’s not like having a single will exclude you socially or anything.

I agree. A single in a big dorm is perfect. How old are you, benev if I may ask?

I definitely want at least one roommate. It would be amazing to room with someone from the other side of the world or someone with diverse interests, and I assume that a roommate would remain a friend for life.

Yeah, seems so cool. I want a roommate from like Tanzania or something. or a conservative texan. I can learn the ways of GW and what not to do.

I don’t think going through the annoyance of rooming with a conservative Texan would be worth it since I think the only thing you need to know not to be like GWB is not to be dumber than a post

Conservative Alabama ian, I can learn why gay rights are bad… Woohoo, learning experience. I can put on my hahvahd app how I spent four years of my life with an idiot, one who taught me so much by teaching me what I should not be.

I gotta say, it sounds like you guys are already at PA. Starting with ranking out the girls, then right from there to atheism, politics, dorm politics, and roommate choices! Get ready for a wild ride next year. My PA class graduated 40 years ago, and our online bull session still sounds like this!

Good luck to all. My son is joining you as a lower.

PA.PA

That’s great! I’ll be lower next year as well!
I’m hoping for a single but I’m not sure new students are given priority on that one. I loved the rooming experiences I had at my current bs but I think I want a little space this year. I WAS going to pretend I’m a conservative texan and freak my roommate out if I end up having one. It’s a nice ice-breaker! I was born in texas(never lived there) and I can do a MEEEEAN texan accent.

Also, Tom and principalviola I agree about the primacy of existence but seeing as proving that god doesn’t exist is just as hard as proving that he does…well, this is why I prefer agnosticism. I won’t start up another off topic conversation though.

back to rooming…when will we know about our arrangements?

Apparently, our requests are considered when they start the housing organization process in mid to late May - and I’d assume this takes quite some time. Maybe late July or early August we’ll find out?

water,

I’m 13. One of the youngest in my grade. Late birthday.

same here benev! don’t turn 14 until july! and with lots of repeaters, the whole young thing will just be exacerbated.
