Andover Essays

I NEED MAJOR HELP ON CREATING A GREAT ESSAY FOR ANDOVER!!! the only essay I could possibly relate myself to was the one that asked you to imagine yourself as grown up, and you wrote a biography about your life. the essay is supposed to answer what the title is and why, and what would you be most remembered for. Should I try and make up my future, or try and write from my life as of now. I NEED HELLPPPP!!!

Calm down, calm down :P. What do you want to achieve with your life? Are there any specific goals you’ve set for yourself? Even if not, make one up. It’s okay if it’s drastic and unlikely, kids are allowed to dream . In your autobiography, pretend that you’ve already achieved your goal. So, in your essay, write about your goal and how you achieved it. Things like that.

I also chose that question in case you were wondering. :)

I was thinking of creating some sort of achievement that reflects off of what I’ve already done. does that seem like the a good approach?

dont create an achievement unless you’ve actualy done it because people who do that type of stuff hinders with the admissions proccess. if you doing the autobiography essay dont worry too much about the name write an essay that relates to your life or what you hope to achieve by 2060 and then think of a title once you done the essay the fits with the jist of the essay. and btw the title of the essay can be like 1-3 word

"I was thinking of creating some sort of achievement that reflects off of what I’ve already done. does that seem like the a good approach? "

absolutely. if you’re a great swimmer and have won multiple awards in math competitions, i don’t think it would make much sense to put in your autobiography that you performed the viola at carnegie hall, if you haven’t touched a viola before in your life. that shows you’re ambitious but frankly, waaaay irrelevant… just keep in mind that essays have to show/tell something about you. after they’ve read it, they should have learned something about you (right now) even if the essay’s events take place many years later

best of luck!

and does the word limit matter?

of course.
