Do the graded writing assignment and Teacher Recommendations have to by your CURRENT English Teacher?

Sorry, by % I meant &

Yes. That’s what Andover requests.

Also, what do I do if he is irresponsible? What approach do I use? He might not get my Teacher Recs in time so any advice?

(1) Give him the recommendation form with all of your information (name, grade, etc.) filled in, along with a stamped, addressed envelope.

(2) Lie about the deadline. :D

Well, just stretch the truth a bit, and tell him it needs to be mailed by [one week before the due date]. By the way, Andover’s deadline is not for another month, so you do have plenty of time.

how about the graded essay?
He doesn’t really grade anything in my class.
So, do I just give him one of my assignments and tell him that I need to grade it?

The graded essay does not have to come from your English class, as far as I know (although that may vary from school to school), so, yes, you can do what you suggested or you can use an essay from a different class. History, perhaps?

Thanks
This raises my confidence because he’s a bad teacher :(

Also, the “graded essay” does not need to be graded. Schools do want to see teacher corrections and comments though. In addition, if the essay was an in-class essay rather than a take home assignment, you should note that.
