So recently I was accepted into the summer program at Andover and I was wondering if it is a good program or not. Obviously I know the main purpose of the program is to make money, but I was wondering if it was a good taste of the academics at a boarding school. It’s really expensive so I probably won’t be able to go on that bias alone, but just wondering some of the benefits and downsides. Also would it be better to do the boarding or online program? The online is much cheaper but the boarding experience seems much more useful and engaging.
Yes. I think you get a good taste of BS. My son was accepted at Exeter for the summer we applied to BS. It was expensive and we saw it the same way. Covid ruined it.
Definitely. You will discover and learn many new things as well as a sense of Boarding Life. I was accepted last year for Exeter’s summer program, but Covid truly ruined it. I hope you have a great time!
Unfortunately, the students & courses may be different from those offered during the regular academic year. There are websites devoted to prep schools which may offer more information. I know that many posters have mentioned such websites, but I cannot recall the site names.
