<p>This year there were 100~ less completed applications. I wonder if its from the negative publicity that we've seen on these very boards? I do admire the Phillipian though for being what looks like uncensored student writing. Many other schools could have similar instances without it being reported.</p>

<p>Oh, for sure. Boarding School student newspapers are the best. Most are hardly moderated by faculty, and it really frees up writers to address whatever they want. I mean sure, there’s a limit for everything, but the student news tends to really dig at actual issues instead of dancing around issues like “should there be more selection in the types of rolls in the dining hall?”</p>

<p>I believe that Choate has some form of online student ranting. I don’t know if they have a newspaper or not, though! :)</p>
