Does anyone know what the zoology/animal biology or the biochemistry department is like at Connecticut College? I am looking for something small but well developed. I am hoping that because its a small school I won't be competing against too many grads but that is definitely something I would like to know. Any thoughts or comments?

Hello Malixie,

There aren’t specific department for animal zoology and biochemistry. However, there are majors in biology with emphasis on ecology and biochemistry. They depend either on the chemistry department or the biology department. From what I know, general biology and general chemistry are part of the biggest class on campus with 80-100 kids. This is mostly due to the pre-med requirement. However, the upper level classes are smaller and you’ll really get to know your teachers.

Conn has very good biology and chemistry department so you’ll have plenty of things to do. They are renovating the biology/ecology/environmental studies building so that’s a pretty nice thing.
