<p>People get into vet school with either one. In fact, students in the entering class had a fairly broad range of majors. </p>
<p>One possible advantage of an animal sciences major is that it may provide additional direct experience with animals and, if you have an interest in working with food animals, it might give a slight edge to your application. There is a special oathway for animal science majors in the Production Medicine Scholars program if that interest you and if yo qualify for the program.</p>
