I'm thinking of U Mich-Ann Arbor for graduate school. How's the environment? I really like coffeeshops, the kind of low key feel, like Seattle. Is Ann Arbor like that? Or completely opposite? Bustling busy? or Quiet?

Thanks,

Ann Arbor is an awesome city. It is not crowded or bustling, but it is not quiet either. It is well balanced. If you like cafes, intellectual atmospheres, laid back and liberal people, you will LOVE Ann Arbor. The last Cafe that opened when I was a student there in 1996 was called "Not another Cafe!" LOL

You have to visit of course, but I have a feeling you will love Ann Arbor.

Ann Arbor is possibly the greatest city in the world. I have been all over the US and Europe, and I have to say that Ann Arbor is my favorite place. There is simply no college town like it. On game days, the procession to the Big House can rival that of any SEC school (i.e. school spirit, drinking, etc). The open air cafes on main street have the feel of European intellectualism, and in the spring as well as the winter (if there is snow), the campus is AMAZING. I'm from indianapolis, which as of right now I HATE, and I can't wait to go back to school.

Sweet:) Sounds really nice!
