Ann Arbor...

I used to live in a place called Maplewood...but not in MI.

Maplewood was my elementary school in Sylvania, so it wasn't in MI.

I went to a school called St Johns...anyone heard of that? lol

Well, which one? There's one in my city...

Look up "Randolph School" on Wikipedia. I bet it has a longer entry then any of y'all's schools. (I'm sorry, but just "your" doesn't sound as right there.)

oh yeah...but was your school named after a space shuttle?!!!

Hehe...no, it's wasn't, unlike all the other schools in the area. Come to think of it...there are four types of school names in Huntsville: 1.) Space Shuttles 2.) snobby Old South names 3.) names of Civil Rights leaders or racist white supremacist politicians 4.) Christian schools.

What am I going to do at a place with boring school names? Gosh! All the reason to stay.

Thsi ranking is so stupid. Why must people try to rank everything now? Thigns liek this a re waaaay to opinion-oriented to be able to be ranked.

Oh well, put a reliable source like CNN+rank random things=Lots of money i guess...

I find rankings highly entertaining. I love seeing Michigan at the top of everyone.

I think one's perception of the place varies with where you are in life. If you're over 21, you'll have different options than someone who is a minor. If you have a young family (like myself) it's something else. If you're retired, same deal. I've lived in Ann Arbor as a young single grad student and as a married person with a young kid, and I'd agree it's a great place to live--but then that's because it has so much for people with my needs and interests. We have a hard time contemplating moving--even to a town 15 or so miles away.

I'd say ranking Ann Arbor among the top 25 cities is pretty accurate. I have lived all over the place and Ann Arbor is truly unique. However, one cannot compare Ann Arbor to a city of 50,000 or a city of 1,000,000. One can compare Ann arbor to cities with populations between 75,000 and 200,000. Among such cities, Ann Arbor is definitely one of the top 10 in the US.

There are restaurants in A2 that aren't so expensive. Not 5-star quality - but you can get decent middle eastern, chinese, sandwiches, BIG TEN BURRITO...

This summer has been amazing -- the best weather ever. If only it were like this year-round - then A2 would be in the top 10.
