Ann Arbor...

...is the 25th best place to live in America, according to CNN.

http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bplive/2006/top100/

True or false?

True. Houses are expensive in Ann Arbor. I'm kinda surprised W. Bloomfield is 14th, we almost bought a house there.

These rankings mean nothing...based on pretty arbitrary formulas for the sake of making some kind of story. Last year my city was ranked 43rd, this year it's not even being considered.

TRUE. I want to live there after college, I was thinking of going to UM, but oh well. It is such a fun, beautiful city.

True. It's a nice city, I live there.

HAHA, "Most Singles" Bloomington, IN, oh geez.

It's always ranked high under places to live, but taxes in the city are like 5 grand a year, it's hard to get a good buy when it comes to a house, and most commute out of the city for work. Also once you live here a while, there isn't a ton to do, a lot of people go to Windsor to gamble, Detroit for athletic events, other cities for lakes, and Detroit suburbs for concerts.

False. It's an okay place but I wouldn't say it's top-25 nice.

It's funny, because most people drive through Ann Arbor, go to an expensive restaurant on Main Street, and then talk about how amazing the food here is. Truth be told, unless you're willing to spend a lot of money you're pretty much limited to JJ's, Wendy's, Potbelly's, etc. There aren't many good, affordable restaurants here (at least that I know of). I'd rank a place like Cambridge much higher.

Yea, so true about the restaurants

wow...my city of Toledo is god awful...i gotta move out of this place lol

Toledo is like a toxic dump, I swear everytime I go down there to play hockey i'm miserable and it feels like life is being taken out of me. It's so grey!!! MOVE OUT!!!

Hey I lived in Toledo a couple years, really close to UT, and I liked it. I moved to a suburb afterwards, Sylvania, and that was alright.

Lucky Kitchen Chinese Restaurant has amazing food. Cheap and delicious.

I hate Sylvania.

Wow! I didn't know that anyone other than me ever lived in Sylvania lol

Maplewood and Arbor Hills alum here. And what's wrong with Sylvania?

haha yea sylvania is probably the best place I guess. I live in Holland next to Toledo Airport...and yea like down the road from UT.

Theres just nothing to do in Toledo, as well as most of the people seem to be fat and uneducated so...yea I'm so gettin myself outta here once I become a doc, haha

You guys should really listen to Sufjan Steven's "Greetings from Michigan" CD. Illinoise is better, but all your towns are the names of his songs. It's good stuff.

I don't like Sylvania because we always used to play them in hockey and they are dirty and cheap and every game the refs had it out against Ann Arbor.

hahaha...yea...oh well..AA will always be one of the best cities on the face of this earth.
