Ann Arbor #16 among cities where residents earn the most

Not bad considering the relatively low cost of living.

Where Americans Earn The Most - Yahoo! Real Estate

Nice, but the ranking is from Forbes.com…I thought we disowned this site after it ranked U of M at #200 lol. o_O

The methods used to rank colleges are often controversial, but the method used for calculating median family income in different areas should be uniform.

I supprised by that… I would have thought there would have been dozens of towns in each of California, Mass. Maryland, Virginia, and through the NY, PA, RI, Conn, and NJ area that surpass 85K average family income… Infact, I know there are counties in Maryland and Virginia with near or in excess of 100K per capita income. Those places have to have towns with higher than that household incomes.

^Yeah. Great Falls, VA, Bethesda, MD, and Potomac, MD all come to mind. Great Falls, in particular, is a very wealthy community.

^^^All are suburbs of Washington D.C. which came in at #3. These numbers are based on metropolitan areas, not just cities.

U-M is a major employer and cultural institution in the area. Ann Arbor has a very educated population. As more high-tech/medical companies and startups establish base in Ann Arbor, expect to see more increases in household media income.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

“household media income”

Media income? Does that mean they are buying televisions? ;-)

yosup, I meant to say “median.” We all make typos ;)

^ Lol, you just made another one =P

rjkofnovi - my fault, I overlooked that. Too many hours in the library has fried my brain.

Seriously, my brain is fried too. I just turned in a major problem set assignment. I think I need more rest. lol

Tell me about it. I’m just counting down the days till winter break!

So I guess you guys must be as stoked as I am about midterms? :)

Lol talking about friend brains, and being excited about midterms…I’m just curious, how many credits total are you guys taking o_O

:)

I am just taking 16. My brain isn’t so much fried as I am just getting worn out. Nothing has been particularly hard yet but it’s hard to keep everything I have to get done and when straight, even when I write it in my planner I end up having to run back to it every few hours to be like “no wait, what? I have to write a paper tonight? On what? Why don’t I remember that?” XD
