<p>Hi guys, I'm applying to the journalism program at USC Annenberg School of Comms & Journalism, and I have to write a one-page statement of intent discussing my reasons for pursuing an education/a career in journalism. I've never really written a proper statement of intent, and I was wondering if the format is relatively formal? I'm usually pretty creative when it comes to writing essays - can I do this with my statement of intent? Or does it have to be very straightforward and to the point? If the word limit was ~500 words, I would have just stuck to the basics, but I have a whole page to express my ideas so I'm hoping I can incorporate my personal writing style.</p>
<p>Is anyone applying to Annenberg/does anyone know how this particular statement of intent should be formatted? Thanks in advance! :)</p>
