<p>The BMI Student Composer Awards recognize superior creative talent and winners receive scholarship grants to be applied toward their studies. In 2010 over 500 manuscripts were submitted from international applicants. All works were judged using pseudonyms.</p>
<p>Eleven young classical composers were named winners. The winners were announced at a reception at the Essex House Hotel in New York City.</p>

<p>Yeeren Low was awarded the Surinach Prize, given to the youngest winner. Low is only thirteen!!</p>
<p>The BMI Foundation has been honoring young composers for 58 years.</p>
