Another Blue and Gold Opportunity Question

I know there are tons of threads with Blue and Gold Opportunity questions already, so sorry/ thanks for answering in advance. I'm just still a bit unsure about my situation.

So last year, I qualified for Cal Grant A (as well as Blue and Gold, but Cal Grant A already covered that, so no problem there). But as of this year, I was disqualified from Cal Grant A due to parents' income over the ceiling. Now I think I should still qualify for Blue and Gold because my parents make about $75k, which is still under $80k.
And according to URSA, for this coming year, the Cost of Attendance (at UCLA) is $23,521, and my student and parent contribution is $11,802. That leaves a total financial need of $11,719.

The only thing I'm unsure about is that Blue and Gold states: Demonstrate income below $80,000 with financial need, as determined for federal need-based aid program. And I know Blue and Gold pays up to about $12k, but my financial need is under that amount by a couple hundred dollars.
So, would I still be considered "with financial need" since I still need $11,719?

I don’t know what URSA is…but the COA for UCLA is about $31k per year…not $23,521.

yes, you should still get it, but I think I read that the funds would not be ‘greater than your financial need’.

mom2collegekids: URSA stands for University Records System Access…it’s sorta like your own account for stuff like adding classes, checking your bills, etc. Anyways, I think that’s just my COA since I live off-campus…it may be different for those who do live on campus.

jbourne: Haha thanks, makes me feel a little better that I didn’t get Cal Grants this year…as long as UC will help out more or less with tuition, it’ll be less of a burden :P
