My daughter is a regular kid. She'd rather shop and chat online with her
friends than study college level math. But she is smart, well-rounded
and very driven. Some stats:

Straight A's. Always High Honor Roll
2X Spelling Bee finalist, mentoring, Leadership camp,
Flute, Chorus, Vocal soloist, Band, Dance
Basketball, Softball (pitcher), Track and X Country
Cheerleading, Gymnastics, Skiing
80's on lower SSAT with no prep. Prepping now for 12/9 Upper Test
Lots of other ECs and Community Service

Applying to Brooks, GDA, and Exeter as a day student. What are her
chances in getting accepted at these schools? Will a 90s score in SSAT get her noticed at Exeter .. or is this one out of reach?

Seems like she'd have a decent shot at Brooks and GDA with Exeter being worth a try - never know what they're look for in a given year -but her grades show she's a competent student and she's well-rounded. She has a lot of ecs/sports? Which ones does she excel at and feel very passionate about? Has she done any for a long time?

Schools like Exeter want kids who are passionate about something that he/she can bring to the school. What activities is your daughter most passionate about and wants to continue to purse at b.s.? She should contact the coach and/or teacher (music, drama, band, etc.) Many
times these people can be an advocate with the Admissions Office and
it demonstrates what she will offer the school.

I know at Andover, getting in as a day student is VERY competitive, but ne would think there are fewer local kids in NH wanting a prep school than in suburban Boston. It seems like most schools have a committment to the local community so I'd give it a try. For a less hard school to get into I'd look at Peddie, it seems really special.

The NH (and Northern MA) area around Exeter contains some very upscale towns/neighborhoods that have plenty of people with money who want their kids to attend Exeter - Rye, Newcastle, North Hampton. Maybe not as hard as Andover but still very competitive I would imagine.
