Daughter Chance: Hotchkiss, Deerfield, Exeter - UPDATE

UPDATE: My Daughter just got her January test scores and overall climbed to 70%, only second standardized test she's ever taken. Show a positive trend, but the question is, is she competitive? PLEASE BE BLUNT AND HONEST.

Excerpts from previous post about her background...

+++++++++

Worried we should have had a safety school, so any insight the community has would be appreciated.

My daughter is applying to 9th grade next yr. She is a high honor roll student, and three sport athlete (hockey, field hockey, lacrosse). Great teacher recommendations, as well as recommendation letters from college coaches for each of her sports. She's been told by coaches at each school she's likely to play varsity in each sport as a freshman.

Interviews went great, and she's received hand written notes from 2 schools saying they were looking forward to reviewing her application.

But SSAT...horrible. 47th percentile. Her school doesn't utilize standardized tests, so she had zero experience, and clearly I should have had her do more than the practice test that comes with the application. Oh hindsight....

Also, I am NOT applying for financial aid.

So whats the community think? Does she have any chance?

she seems to have a pretty good chance to me. SSATs arent all that --its just number. you also arent applying for financial aid, so that probably is a boost. if her interviews went as well as you say, she should get in no problem.

70 percentile isn’t terrible, although it definetly won’t be something that will boost her by any means against other students. If she could take it once more then that might be of value.
