I would say my essays are okay n good recs. My prob is I am an international asking for loads of aid. My ED college turned me down for this very reason.
So can someone chance me honestly please?

I don't know at what rate Carleton accepts international students, but you should get in. As far as the aid, it depends on how much your family makes, and if you come across as a top applicant. I think you'll get in, but I'm not sure if the aid you do receive will be sufficient. Remember, Carleton is an excellent LAC with plenty of applicants who'd go regardless of aid. If you don't go there, someone will be glad to take your spot. I think only about 7 of 270 waitlisted students get in. Competitive for admissions. Good luck

You have a great shot, as far as I can tell. Yes, your requiring aid will definitely hurt your chances, especially during this financial crisis (though I don't know how much Carleton has been affected by it). As you may know, Carleton offers 6 full scholarships and 6 partial scholarships. So, that makes 12 scholarships to international students. Needless to say, it is extremely difficult to get in when you ask for aid. But one thing you have in your favor is that the Star scholarship (the largest source of funding for international students) is given only to Asian students. With all said, you can certainly be one of the top six applicants among those who apply for admission and aid.

Thank you very much. I know it's very competitive as an international asking for aid and especially this year. Thank you for your opinions. :)

hey..i feel you have a reasonable shot at it, albeit the aid factor could hurt..pretty good ECs though..i am Indian too applying RD to Carleton..will be giving my XII boards this March..could you chance me please?? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/international-students/652134-chance-indian-please.html

Yeah. Aid seems to be my downfall for studying in the U.S :(
