Hello everyone. I know its very very tough to get through but please take a look.My credentials are as follows :-</p>

<p>SAT - I : CR 660, Math 800, Writing 730 = 2190/2400.
SAT - II : Lit. 610, Math Level I 770, Math Level II 780.
TOEFL : 114/120</p>

<p>Rank - 9th Grade - 2/245
10th Grade - 1/245
11th Grade - 1/245
12th Grade - 1/245</p>

<p>GPA - 4.0 on a 4.0 scale (all 4 years).</p>

<p>No AP or IB offered in my school. Most rigorous curriculum taken.</p>

<p>Awards:
- Awarded the Certificate of Highest Merit by the Central Board of Secondary Education for
securing Highest in English in India.
- Winner - All India Reynolds Scholarship for Best All-Rounder.
- Awarded the Certificate Of Honour for All-Round Excellence and Achievement at The

<p>Debate - Won a few debates, School Speaker,School Representative at Model UN</p>

<p>Creative Writing - School Magazine Co-editor, won some prestigious All India Writing
Contests.</p>

<p>Sports - Member of Varsity Athletics, Football(soccer) teams</p>

<p>Essays - decent
Teacher reco. - Outstanding
Counselor reco. - Great
Principal reco. - superb (seen all of the above)</p>

<p>Please please chance me for Carleton..</p>

<p>I know its highly difficult for me to get in, but I'd really appreciate any honest comments. Should i even hope to get in.?</p>

<p>I really have no idea what they look for from international students, but you do seem like a strong enough candidate. They'll probably like your quiz bowl and rock band experiences.</p>

<p>Are you asking for financial aid? Unfortunately, that plays a role in international admissions. Other than that, I'd say you're all set!</p>

<p>yes, unfortunately i am asking for aid..how much will it offset my chances?? do you think i stand a chance if the fiscal side of things are taken care of?</p>

<p>If you weren't asking for aid, I'd say you look pretty likely. But as part of that very, very competitive pool of international students (and from India-that probably hurts), its more of a crap shoot. You still look very good though. Carleton likes 'quirky' and that rock band is their sweet spot. I assume you have applied to other schools as well?</p>

<p>^ thanks..yea,i applied to HYP, Brown, Columbia, Duke, U Chicago, NU, Cornell and Penn apart from Carleton..praying that i get at least one favorable decision out of 11.</p>

<p>Yeah, being an international applying for FA will hurt. But I'm not an admissions officer so don't quote me on that :P.</p>

<p>You aren't getting more replies because the thread needs bumping; it's been at the top of the Carleton forum for some days now. You aren't getting replies because admissions, especially for international students, are idiosyncratic and anyone's best guess is still pretty worthless.</p>

<p>My sister is an Indian at Carleton College. You have better stats than she did. If you wrote strong essay, I am pretty sure you will get in.</p>

<p>Where else did you apply and what do you intend to do at Carleton?</p>

<p>i applied to all the ivies except Dart…awaiting the 31st…i got wait listed at Carleton and there’s a huge chance that i may not wait till spring 2010.</p>
