okay, so i was wondering. on the commonapp, it asks what ethnic group you identify with, not what race you are.

i look caucasian, but there is no question (in my mind, at least) that i identify with the hispanic ethnic group.
i have been an exchange student in S. America, I speak spanish whenever I can, I love spanish culture and music and i help tutor spanish kids. (sometimes i feel that i was born in the wrong country, lol)

if someone were to ask me what race i was, i would say white, if someone were to ask me what ethnic group i most identify with, i would say hispanic.

is it okay to put hispanic on my app? or should i just leave it blank. i don't want to do anything ethically wrong here.

ethnicity is what you are by blood. if you are actually hispanic by birth but just look white then youre still hispanic. but if youre a white kid who just really likes spanish culture (and if you are then this thread is weird) then youre just a white kid [who really likes spanish culture]

Cheap try. Did you check Hispanic on your PSAT and SAT? You should be a recognized hispanic by now if you had. Might seem a little strange to colleges if you didn't.

***?
"I love spanish culture and music and i help tutor spanish kids"

if you actually knew anything at all about South America, you would know that kids from that part of the world are not 'Spanish' but 'South American' or 'Latin American' or 'Hispanic'

'Spanish' means from 'SPAIN.'

Heh. And no, you are not Hispanic just because you claim to love 'Spanish kids.' I love puppies, does that make me a dog?
