Another fall frosh schedule for u to evaluate since ur on CC in summer hehe

cogsci major(L&S)=>premed

CHEM 001A General Chemistry (PS) 4.0 units
HMEDSCI 098 DIRECTED GROUP STDY 2.0 units
MATH 001A Calculus 4.0 units
S ASIAN R005A Great Books of India 4.0 units (R&C req)
TAMIL 001A INTROD TAMIL 5.0 units
TAMIL 001A Intro Tamil 5.0 units (on my Acedemic advising this shows up twice...i think it might be a discussion section)

here are my qualms:
-i also have full work-study planned
-5 on BC/AB and B at a JC mv calc (math 53) so should i just skip to 53 since it is more leniently curved or take 1a/b even though it is weeder just because i am SO familiar with the course content
-also...WHICH CLASS SHOULD I DROP?...
-for the chem 1a should i start studying this summer because i took AP soph year?
-finally...i dont know if this helps but i have 5/7 breadths done....

wow this long! thx ALOT for your help guys :]

Did you do your breadths at a JC and transfer them over? That's pretty smart. Otherwise, you know that they have to be fulfilled by taking classes AT Berkeley, right?

Drop Tamil.

why should i drop tamil? is the teacher crazy hard or something???

better to drop tamil than to drop your premed reqs.

thx, cheeks. anyone else? i thought ppl would tell me to drop health med sci (which should be noted is not a premed req at all)

Dropping Tamil would be the priority because of its courseload - dropping 2 units, frankly, won't do a whole lot to lighten your load, at least not in a manner significant enough to warrant dropping those two units (unless those two units are Bio1AL, in which case GHARHAG I HATE BIO1AL)

It's a language course. I hear the 5 unit ones are really intense.

....almost ALL language courses are 5 units. And yes, they meet every day, which is why they're intense.

thx anon5389567…by the second Calc course you mean 1b right or do u mena 54? also, i am fluent in Tamil which is why i dont think i should have too difficult of a time in it especially if the class is curved but anyone who knows about indic languages knows how hard the grammar/numer of cases etc can be

anon2528462:
no i actually talked to an l&s advisor when i visited for calso and she said tat ultimately it would be my decision whether or not i chose to take 1a/b/53 at cal even though i took its equivalent at a cc…but as for upper div tamil i dont know how good of an idea that would be because i still cant write in tamil script… i only speak it right now
