Another Frosh needing schedule advice

So I just completely reworked my schedule so I'm not on so many wait lists and having scheduling conflicts. It now looks like:

Math 16A
CS 10
MCB C62
Cog Sci C1

14 units

I'm on the wait list for the Cog Sci class, but I was wondering if my schedule is too "technical" or I should switch a class out for something english related. Thanks!

What are your potential majors? Any other factors such as premed?

Cognitive Science
Math 16A and Cog Sci C1 satisfy 2 of the prerequisites and the CS class I’ve heard is a good prep for CS 61A which is another prereq.

Any AP scores or other credit coming in?

Note that a Cognitive Science requirement, Math 55 or CS 70, requires “Mathematical maturity appropriate to a sophomore math class.” Meaning the course material may be a big step up in difficulty compared to Math 16A.

You can preview CS 61A here:

Fall 2011: [CS 61A: The Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs](http://61a-fa11.appspot.com/)
Summer 2011: [CS 61A Summer 2011: Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs](CS 61A Summer 2011: Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs)
Spring 2011: [CS 61A Home Page](CS 61A Home Page)

The books and computer language interpreters for the course are all free (legally) on the web.

looks peachy, go for it.

I’ve taken 10 AP tests and probably have some credit there, but I’m not sure how much. I also haven’t gotten my scores back on 5 of them yet.
Thanks for the advice, I’ll look into that.

If AP Calculus AB or BC was among your AP tests, take a look at these pages:

If AP Computer Science A was one of your AP tests, you may find going directly to CS 61A to be a better idea than CS 10.

Looks like a good first semester schedule to me. CS10 and Math 16A will be a breeze. Cog Sci C1 isn’t too difficult but can involve a lot of reading depending on which professor is teaching.

I would throw in something completely different that satisfies a breadth to change things up a little bit and explore some other fields - but that’s just my personal preference. Your schedule, though definitely not too difficult, looks a bit boring. CS10 was pretty fun, though.
