The only things that will be added to this are my junior year AP/IB scores and the SAT II Chemistry score, which I'm taking in June. My GPA is going to change for sure, and my guess is that it's going to go down a little bit.
Other than that, this is pretty much it.
Mudd is my dream school right now, and I'm planning on applying ED1. The ideal situation is that I'm accepted through ED1, so that I won't have to apply to any other privates and stress out for 4 more months afterwards :P
I would really appreciate the advice/comments!

You know what? I think you stand a really really good shot. Maybe a few more EC’s wouldn’t hurt at all but other than very very good. Especially as a female.

hey~ another korean female
How did HMC suddenly become so popular within korean females?

ur in good shape

ur AMC & AIME are pretty good. (especially considering that this year’s amc 12 was harder!)
ur SAT I is good
ur courses are good

see you 2 year later!!

umm. i’m a little confused. a “female” with “XY” chromosomes? i guess we’re getting into gender bending now, huh?

oops

i saw the previous post and didn’t really think carefully
haha

…X"X" it is. :frowning: OTL

oh u are female afterall
haha

created so much confusion

Since you live nearby, try to visit campus a few times (especially when classes are in session). Also think about getting an early start on your essays this summer so that you have plenty of time to refine them.

READ EVERY THREAD YOU CAN FIND ON CC REGARDING EARLY DECISION - Since binding, it gives you no option to compare against financial offers from other schools. If you are considering ED route, you’ll need to be well educated about the pros/cons.

I got in with worse. Does being in CA help you? I’m from MI at a regular crappy public school.

Try to do something weird with your essay. I wrote about this awesome prank I pulled.

i realized that you are taking a ridiculous number of classes
What a beast

@colorado_mom: I’ve actually visited the campus 5 times so far, two of which were official visits. I’ve sat through a linear algebra class, too (the professor was much more engaging & intimate with his students than most of the teachers at my school!). Mudd’s campus & class environment seems to suit me pretty well.

In fact, the financial problem is the one & only reason that my parents are against ED for Mudd (or for any other school, pretty much). If the worst comes & I just can’t afford to go to Mudd, then backing out of the ED deal will be my last resort; that’s why I’m still going to apply to two or more EA schools & some UCs in case, but like you said, I do need to inform myself a lot the whole FA issue. Thanks for the advice :)

@Rising Star: I have absolutely no idea if being in CA helps, but most likely it wouldn’t matter. Haha. A lot of the students at Mudd told me the same thing about the essay–to write a quirky & funny one–but I am the world’s worst at humor. That’s another thing that concerns me.

@maruhan: That’s quite a typical IB junior schedule at my school. A good majority of teachers & former students say that it’s harder than a college student’s schedule, but that’s really what keeps me going: the fact that I would survive in college if I survive a rigorous high school curriculum like this one :)
